Before you sign on the dotted line for a second mortgage loan ask yourself a few questions. Can you really afford to take a second mortgage loan? Is your job secure enough that you can do this without constant worry about your employment security? Do you really need the money from a second mortgage loan? This is a telling question to ask yourself. If you are taking a second mortgage loan for college tuition or a financial emergency then do what you must, but if you are going to take a second mortgage loan to finance a vacation, expensive automobile or other toys you are making a huge financial blunder. If you have the monthly income and can comfortably pay your bills why take on the added debt burden of a second mortgage loan? Americans have been through tough economic times recently and I fear it is only going to grow worse for those who do not have the knowledge to proper handle their finances. My advice is to learn to live within your means and quit trying to keep up with the Jones. You will be happier and life will be less stressful.
